Kindle App On iPhone and iPod Touch

iTouch I’ve never been a big fan of  e-book reading. There’s just something about the old fashioned paper back that I can’t seem to give up. I love going to the book store, flipping through pages, and even the smell of books. My mom on the other hand is a big advocate of e-book technology. If it was up to her there would be no more paper books AT ALL. She calls it her way of “going green.”

Because of her influence I have read a few ebooks and tested out a few ebook readers. It always seems that I would like reading on the devices that weren’t made just for ebook reading. For example the Nokia 770. Just recently my dad bought me an iTouch. (Thanks Kirk!) As of today the Amazon Kindle has an iPhone application that allows you to read Kindle books, and purchase their books off of Amazon.  I downloaded the app and bought the book “Sundays at Tiffany’s” by James Patterson. Surprisingly, I actually really enjoy reading on the iTouch. Some people complain that the size of the screen is to small to read on. I would understand that if I didn’t feel like the whole point is convenience.  With the iPod or iPhone you can carry your library everywhere and read at anytime. Great for me. As a teacher I already have a lot of papers, books, and materials with me. Adding another book or large electronic device to my list of things to bring everyday is not what I’m looking for. I keep my Itouch in my purse anyways.

Along with size, another great feature is the one click buy and Wispersync. Within seconds I had purchased my book and it was sent straight to my iPod. Also for anyone into ebooks, you know that they can get expensive. Well all Kindle books are 9.99 or less. Great price, size, and reading!
